My Story
Ever since I could remember I have always wanted to become a doctor. Growing up, I had a parent that was in poor health and often needed medical support. Part of my childhood was witnessing her challenges with the medical world. Her experience motivated and inspired me to one day become a doctor and help those in need.
My healing education began at a small school named Pangea. It was there that I was introduced to energy medicine teachings in Polarity Therapy, Reiki, Cranial Sacral, and Western Herbalism. The teachings were informal but a perfect entry into looking at the energetics of the body.
Next, I enrolled and graduated from The Massage School in Massachusetts. I deepened my study of anatomy and physiology, pathology, and kinesiology with an emphasis on hands on learning. It was during this time that I was introduced to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I began to receive treatments at a community acupuncture clinic, in exchange I would work the front desk. This position eventually became full time employment, and my interest in Chinese Medicine began to grow. The medicine felt familiar, and my employers became my mentors.
After a few years, I moved across country and attended Naropa University in Boulder, CO. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Contemplative Psychology and Traditional Eastern Arts. I studied Yoga, Tai Chi, and Meditation. Naropa's Motto is "Transform yourself, Transform the World." I knew that If I wanted to help others to heal, that I would need to start with myself.
Afterwards, I moved to Portland, OR and enrolled into Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and graduated with a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I was fascinated with exploring the teachings of Chinese Medicine as they applied to the body, and was reflected in everything around me. "The Tao gives birth to the the One. The one gives birth to the two. The two gives birth to the three. The three gives birth to the ten thousand things" Tao Te Ching 42
During my studies at OCOM, I was also drawn to the mystery teachings of The Golden Web. After a four year program, I graduated from Golden Web Mystery School (formerly Blue Iris Mystery School). I learned a different way to engage with the elements, to access the information of my ancestors, and begin a relationship with my allies.
After graduating from both schools I continued to work with Chinese Medicine. I worked as a herbal technician at Golden Cabinet Herbal Medicinary, and later at Serene Care Clinic. My employment was dispensing herbal formulas from practitioners all over.
All my education has led me here, to this moment. As I approach my Crone Years, my Wise Blood Years- I am finally ready to bring all my knowledge and teachings into healing experiences with you.
